Pisgah 36 Hour Adventure Race Rules

Stages must be done in order.

Each stage has at least one mandatory Check Point (CP).

Up to 6 CP's can be acquired per stage.

Two stages will have 6 mandatory CP's

To win: Most CP's in the least amount of time. 31 CP in 35 hours beats 30 in 30.

When a team finishes a stage they can immediately start the next stage.

'When a team finishes a stage they can immediately start the next stage' but once a stage is done, it's done.

Teams must report in between every stage.

NC280 and NC64 are Off Limits for the duration of the race.

Race Director and staff reserve the right to pull any team from the competition at any time for any reason.
Any action deemed against the spirit of the event may result in disqualification. The organizers decision is final.


Approved cycling helmets must be worn at all times when riding in the event. Riding without a helmet will result in disqualification.

Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse. All racers are expected to understand and comply with these rules.

Teams must stay on designated Mountain Bike trails or gravel roads.

NO BUSHWACKING.

Racers must yield to other trail users.

If you encounter horses: STOP! DISMOUNT! Ask equestrian for further instructions. Hikers: Announce your presence, Yield. Other riders: Downhill riders yield to uphill riders.

Road Rules:

When on pavement and gravel roads ride SINGLE FILE and on the RIGHT.

Do not cut corners. Pass with care. Use hand signals to communicate with traffic.

Burn rear red light at all times while on pavement or gravel roads.
